amish man arrested for DUI

Mug Shot Robs Amish Man of His Soul

INTERCOURSE, PA--- Calvin George Yoder, arrested last month for driving a horse-drawn carriage under the influence of alcohol, was sentenced to thirty days in county jail yesterday.

An unusually leniant Judge Gayle Parsons will allow Yoder to enroll in a work release program, where he may attend community barn-raisings and harvest his own breakfast each morning.

Yoder offered no explanation as to how he came in contact with the alcohol and insists he "does not drink spirits."

The impounded buggy has been released to family members in exchange for twelve pounds of fresh butter.
